Fritzie is only 5 months old and was acquired by his original owners as one of two Miniature Dachshunds and then they learned from their Strata residence that they were permitted only one dog, not two.     The owners attempted to contact the breeder and the breeder would not return calls and messages.     All reputable breeders will take their dogs back if the placement is not successful for any reason.

Two things may be said about this situation.   If you live in a Strata property, it is a good idea to check your bylaws to ensure that you can have a pet, and if there are restrictions, do your due diligence and attempt to have them changed to pet friendly bylaws.   The other point is that one should seek out reputable breeders before making the decision to adopt a pet.  Please see the list of our member/breeders on this website.
