Code of Ethics

of

The Miniature Dachshund Club of British Columbia

1.    Indiscriminate breeding will be discouraged. The welfare of the bitch, and the quality, health and long-term prospects of any puppies bred will be paramount.  I will not knowingly sell any puppy to a dealer, broker or pet store.

2.    Stock that has, or may carry serious hereditary faults, will be excluded from my breeding program.

3.    All pure bred puppies will be registered with the Canadian Kennel Club (CKC) or the American Kennel Club (AKC), and purchasers of these puppies will be supplied with CKC or AKC Registration papers at no additional cost.

4.    All sales of dogs as companion animals will be subject to the provisions of CKC Non Breeding Agreements in addition to the conditions included in my own kennel's Sales Agreement.

5.    As an exhibitor, in a spirit of friendship and goodwill, I will applaud and appreciate other people's successes, and welcome and assist newcomers to the sport of exhibiting purebred Dachshunds.

Note:

The Miniature Dachshund Club of British Columbia disapproves the exporting of Dachshunds to any country with a reputation for inadequate standards in the care of dogs.  All enquiries for breeding stock should be investigated thoroughly.
